Three-day Angkor Sankranta Attracts 1.75 Million Visitors

The Angkor Sankranta 2023, held in the complex of Angkor Archeological Park in Siem Reap province on the occasion of the Khmer Traditional New Year from April 14 to 16, received some 1,750,000 visitors, said a report of the Provincial Department of Tourism.

The figure represents 82.5 percent of the total visitors registered across Siem Reap cultural province, the source pointed out.

According to the report, Siem Reap province attracted a total of 2,120,373 national and international visitors during the Khmer New Year holiday, of them about 2,107,000 were national tourists and local people, and 13,373 were foreigners.

Besides Angkor Sankranta, Phnom Koulen National Park, Tonle Sap zone, and community-based tourism sites were popular among the tourists on the occasion.
