Phnom penh:Thai forces have continued attacking Cambodian civilian infrastructure in Banteay Meanchey province, according to the latest press release from the Ministry of National Defence.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, on December 10, 2025, at 3:45 p.m., the Thai military fired two 155mm artillery shells into Khvav Lekh Primary School in Svay Chek commune, Svay Chek district, Banteay Meanchey province, as reported by the Ministry. The Ministry described the incident as an indiscriminate attack on civilian areas, specifically targeting a children's school.
The Ministry of National Defence condemned the acts committed by the Thai side, emphasizing that such actions breach the Ceasefire Agreement and the Joint Declaration between Cambodia and Thailand. These agreements were signed on October 26, 2025, with U.S. President Donald J. Trump and Malaysian Prime Minister H.E. Anwar Ibrahim, in his role as ASEAN Chair, serving as witnesses.
