Sport Courts for SEA Games 2023 Almost Completed

Preparation of sport courts for the 32nd SEA Games and the 12th ASEAN Para Games to be hosted by Cambodia has been completed almost 100 percent.

The update was shared by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Samdech Pichey Sena Tea Banh, President of the Cambodian SEA Games-ASEAN Para Games Organising Committees (CAMSOC-CAMAPGOC) after inspecting the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces Sports Centre (Old Stadium) here in Phnom Penh on April 19.

There are only 16 day left (as of April 19) toward the games, our teams are carefully monitoring all preparation aspects, especially the sport courts to ensure cleanliness, hygiene and high standard, said Samdech Tea Banh.

The deputy prime minister continued that four sport courts including the Old Stadium, National Olympic Stadium, Phnom Penh Crown Stadium, and Prince Stadium will be venues for football matches to start on April 29.

The Royal Cambodian Armed Forces Sports Centre is an important centre for training of Cambodian national athletes on Kun Khmer and Kickboxing, he added.

In total 12,404 sports delegates will join the forthcoming games.

A total of 36 sports and a demonstration sport (teqball) have been listed for the 32nd SEA Games and 12 for the 12th ASEAN Para Games.

The 32nd SEA Games and the 12th ASEAN Para Games will be held from May 5 to 17, 2023 and from June 3 to 9, 2023, respectively under the motto "Sport: Live in Peace".
