SPM Hun Sen Calls for Peaceful Communities at Factories

Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has called for all employers, employees/workers and investors to make factories peaceful communities to contribute to national development.

The Cambodian Premier made the appeal while holding a get-together with some 19,000 factory workers and employees, held at the Royal Group Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone in Khan Kambol, Phnom Penh this morning.

In this regard, Samdech Techo Hun Sen further encouraged factory owners to reinforce safe village-commune-district policy, no drug use, and solve disputes outside judicial system while employees/workers were asked to follow internal regulations of factories as solidarity between employers and employees/workers would increase not only incomes of the factories, but also well-being of the latter, and regular tax payment to the government, along with the additional promotion of existing investments.

On the occasion, Samdech Techo Hun Sen released the country's export volume for the first four months of this year worth US$ 7,334 million. In April alone, Cambodia's exports accounted for US$1,842 million, he added.

According to the Cambodia Premier, garment sector generates over US$3 billion per year.

Taking the opportunity, Samdech Techo Hun Sen called on his fellow citizens to maintain current full peace to ensure people’s livelihood, national socio-economic development of Cambodia, and prevent any colour revolution attempted, as well as requested eligible voters to go to the polls for the 7th National Election to exercise their rights of whichever political parties they like on upcoming July 23.
