Phnom penh: South Korean President H.E. Lee Jae Myung welcomed a landmark Joint Declaration between Cambodia and Thailand, praising it as a significant step for regional stability. The Joint Declaration, signed in Malaysia on Oct. 26, was facilitated by U.S. President Donald Trump and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, in an official message disseminated by the South Korean Embassy in Phnom Penh on Monday afternoon, President Lee commended the accord. “I welcome the signing of the Joint Declaration between Cambodia and Thailand, under the leadership of Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul of Thailand and Prime Minister Hun Manet of Cambodia in Malaysia,” the President stated, hoping that the agreement will serve as a meaningful step toward promoting peace and stability in the region as well as between the two countries.
President Lee Jae Myung also expressed high appreciation for the dedicated efforts made by U.S. President Donald Trump and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, as Chair of ASEAN for 2025, in achieving this historic agreement.
