Phnom penh: Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has expressed his support for an upcoming visit by a delegation from the Saudi Arabian Chamber of Commerce to Cambodia in 2026, noting its significance in bolstering bilateral relations, particularly in trade and investment.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Senate President shared these remarks during a courtesy call and farewell meeting with H.E. Mohammed Ismaeil A. Dahlwy, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Cambodia, at the Senate Palace earlier today.
During their meeting, Samdech Techo acknowledged the ambassador's diplomatic contributions in Cambodia, highlighting his efforts to foster closer ties between the two nations. He reflected on the ambassador's role in facilitating his official visit to Saudi Arabia in 2024, which he viewed as indicative of the strengthening relationship between the countries.
Ambassador Mohammed Ismaeil A. Dahlwy expressed his fond memories of his tenure in Cambodia and praised the country's development progress. He conveyed hope for Cambodia's continued emergence as a dynamic economy within the ASEAN region.
The ambassador also emphasized the positive trajectory of Cambodia-Saudi Arabia relations, particularly through high-level reciprocal visits, and confirmed that Saudi investors would visit Cambodia in 2026 through the Saudi Arabian Chamber of Commerce to explore investment prospects.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen welcomed the anticipated visit, underscoring the importance of enhanced trade and investment cooperation as a core component of bilateral relations. He expressed optimism that increased exchanges between leaders, business communities, and citizens of the two nations would further strengthen ties and contribute to long-term cooperation and mutual prosperity.
