SEA Games Obstacle Race Starts

Obstacle Race at the 32nd SEA Games hosted by Cambodia kicked-started this morning at the Chroy Changvar International Convention Centre in Phnom Penh, in the presence of H.E. Hang Chuon Naron, Minister of Education, Youth and Sports and Vice Chairman of Cambodian SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games Organising Committees (CAMSOC-CAMAPGOC).

There are two events – Men's Individual and Women's Individual in today's programme.

Obstacle Race taking place from May 3 to 7 attracts the participation of six countries, including host Cambodia, Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, and the Philippines. The sport will consist of 12 medals for 12 categories.

Obstacle Race was first introduced in the SEA Games 2019 in the Philippines, but not included in the SEA Games held in Vietnam in 2022.

To date, there are six SEA Games 2023 sports having started competitions before the official Opening Ceremony on May 5 – Cricket, Ouk Chaktrang (Chess), Football, Hockey, Sailing, and Obstacle Race.
