Phnom penh: Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has sent a congratulatory message to H.E. Mrs. Takaichi Sanae on her election as the first female Prime Minister of Japan.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Cambodian Prime Minister expressed his pleasure on behalf of the Royal Government and the people of Cambodia in extending warm congratulations to Prime Minister Takaichi for her historic election by the Japanese Diet on October 21, 2025. In his message dated October 22, Hun Manet emphasized his readiness to collaborate closely with the newly elected leader to enhance the partnership between Cambodia and Japan. He highlighted their shared vision for peace, stability, and prosperity both within the region and beyond.
The Cambodian Premier also conveyed his eagerness to meet with Prime Minister Takaichi at the earliest opportunity to discuss ways to further strengthen their bilateral relations. Cambodia and Japan have maintained strong ties marked by frequent high-level interactions and cooperation in various sectors. Hun Manet referred to his visit to Japan in May this year, during which both countries reaffirmed their commitment to deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, a milestone achieved in 2023.
