Royal Government’s New One-Stop Tax Service Building Inaugurated

Phnom penh: Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet this morning presided over the inauguration of the new headquarters building of the General Department of Taxation (GDT) under the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, speaking at the ceremony, described the new building as one of Cambodia's latest landmark achievements. He emphasized that it demonstrates the continuous progress of state institutions in Cambodia and reflects the Royal Government's strong commitment to modernizing public administration to better serve citizens and the national economy.

H.E. Kong Vibol, Director-General of the General Department of Taxation, detailed that the building was constructed on a total area of 25,755 square meters and consists of 30 floors dedicated to administrative offices and four floors for commercial purposes. The facility is designed to function as a comprehensive service center for taxpayers and the public, offering a 'one-stop service' where all related services can be accessed efficiently in one location.

According to H.E. Aun Pornmoniroth, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, the new building is not only a significant national achievement but also a symbol of growth, strength, stability, confidence, and a bright future. He added that it reflects the Royal Government's commitment to improving public service delivery by providing citizens, taxpayers, and tax officials with a modern, efficient, comfortable, and high-quality environment for tax-related services under one roof.

The Deputy Prime Minister also highlighted the achievements of the General Department of Taxation as one of the country's main revenue collectors. He noted that tax revenue collection increased from approximately US$738 million in 2012 to US$3.577 billion in 2025, representing nearly a fourfold increase over the past 13 years.
