Private Hospitals Authorised to Provide Home Care for COVID-19 Patients

Ministry of Health has allowed private health centres to provide health care and treatment services for COVID-19 patients with mild symptoms at home.

According to the ministry’s announcement issued on Monday, all interested private health establishments shall apply for the authorisation at the Ministry of Health.

Those private hospitals are required to have their medical team who have been appropriately trained for home care by trainers of the Ministry of Health, it said, adding that this team shall be commissioned separately from others and they must be in 14-day quarantine after looking after COVID-19 patients.

Technically appropriate patient transfer system from home to authorised COVID-19 treatment private hospitals or public centres is needed in case the symptoms become severe, the same source underlined.

The COVID-19 home care service must also get an approval from local authorities – chief of Sangkat/commune and health officials of operational district health office, pointed out the announcement.
