The Preah Norodom Sihanouk-Angkor Museum plans to exhibit pieces of crystal and some artifacts from the excavations for the public from Jan. 16, 2024. According to the APSARA National Authority's news release this afternoon, researchers from the APSARA National Authority found 6,956 pieces of crystal and some artifacts at the Kandal Sras Srong Temple in 2020. Director of the Preah Norodom Sihanouk-Angkor Museum, Mr. Kun Phally, said the 6,956 pieces of crystal would be permanently displayed in the museum's gallery. There are three types of this artifact: Purple Amethyst, Yellow Citrine, and White Crystal. In addition to the crystal exhibits, there are several other artifacts from the same site at Kandal Sras Srong Temple, such as the sandstone turtle, and metal artifacts. Mr. Kun Phally said that this permanent exhibition aims to introduce to the public, researchers, and students the artifacts and relics buried in the ancient temple as well as the history, culture, religion, and traditions of the Khmer na tion. Every Saturday at the beginning of each month, the Preah Norodom Sihanouk-Angkor Museum provides free entrance for the international community, which is a special point to attract more national and international visitors, the public, researchers, and students.
