PM Speaks Highly of Cambodia-Japan Relationship

Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet this morning highly appreciated the relationship between Cambodia and Japan which turns this year 70 years old. Addressing the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new container terminal-phase 1 together with the inauguration for the official use of two units of mobile harbour crane under ODA loan and grant aid from the Government of Japan at Sihanoukville Autonomous Port, Preah Sihanouk province, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said as both nations have been celebrating the 70th anniversary of their diplomatic ties, there have been many infrastructure achievements on Cambodia's territory under the support of Japan. 'The achievements that have appeared on the territory of the Kingdom of Cambodia at this time are a testament to the relationship between Cambodia and Japan,' he said. This year, we have two special features: first, we are celebrating the 70th anniversary of the two countries' diplomatic relations; and second, we have upgraded the b ilateral relations to the level of comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation, the Premier stressed. Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet stated that Japan has made significant contributions to infrastructure development as well as connectivity in Cambodia. On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister also encouraged all stakeholders, both the public and private sectors, to join hands to boost connectivity, especially to link freshwater to sea water, i.e. between the river port and sea port.
