PM Reconfirms Cambodia’s Stance on International Arena

Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen this morning reaffirmed Cambodia’s stance on international arena.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of container terminal and the celebration of 137th anniversary of International Labour Day (May 1) and 70th Anniversary of Cambodia-Japan Diplomatic Relations (1953-2023) in Sihanoukville, Preah Sihanouk province, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said Cambodia will support all initiatives if they follow three main principles.

“Cambodia is the first supporter of Japan’s initiative on Free and Open Indo-Pacific Strategy and will support other initiatives if they respect three major principles,” he underlined.

First, he pointed out, Cambodia will support any initiative that serves peace and development; second, the initiative is not against any country or any group; and third, the initiative must respect the ASEAN Centrality and ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific.
