PM: No Third Dose for Those Inoculated with AstraZeneca Vaccine Yet

Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen said no third or booster dose for those who have been vaccinated with AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine yet.
The Premier made the clarification in a special voice message shared this afternoon after there have been requests for the 3rd dose to be administered for those injected with AstraZeneca in the past few days.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen explained that the Ministry of Health had not yet studied clearly about the recommended interval between the first, second, and third doses of AstraZeneca, and there is not enough AstraZeneca vaccine for the moment, that’s why only frontline workers who got the Sinopharm or Sinovac shots can have access to the booster dose of AstraZeneca.
“So far, we have only conducted study on the gap of Sinopharm and Sinovac vaccines, therefore we can provide AstraZeneca as the booster dose or third dose [for those inoculated with Sinopharm or Sinovac],” he underlined.
Samdech Techo Prime Minister said he had ordered the purchase of more AstraZeneca vaccine for booster dose for more frontline workers.
Cambodia launched the third dose campaign for frontline workers in the provinces bordering Thailand on Aug. 8. The priority people to receive the booster doses are frontline medical practitioners, both public and private, and civil servants in seven provinces: Battambang, Banteay Meanchey, Pailin, Koh Kong, Oddar Meanchey, Pursat, and Preah Vihear, as well as contracted officials, and armed forces and their family members.
