Phnom Penh, AIMF Sign Strategic Partnership Agreement

Phnom Penh capital city has signed a partnership agreement with the International Association of Francophone Mayors (AIMF) on disaster preparedness, waste management strategy, and strategic roadmap for smart and sustainable cities.

Phnom Penh Governor H.E. Khuong Sreng and visiting Permanent Secretary of the AIMF Mr. Pierre Baillet chaired the official signing event at Phnom Penh capital hall on May 23.

The partnership agreement between Phnom Penh capital administration and AIMF is part of the networking among French-speaking Southeast Asian cities within the strategic framework of AIMF with the European Union.

H.E. Khuong Sreng spoke highly of AIMF and Phnom Penh's hosting of the 40th AIMF Meeting in 2019, considering it as a great learning and experience sharing platform in city development.

Along with the signing of the partnership agreement and meetings with concerned Cambodian government ministries, and development agencies, the visiting delegation led by Mr. Pierre Baillet also visited AIMF-supported projects in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap province.

Phnom Penh became a member of AIMF in 1990 and one of AIMF office's 27 members in 2003.
