National Secondary School Games 2023: Phnom Penh Ranked 1st with 56 Medals

The National Secondary School Games 2023 has been successfully concluded last evening after nine days of competition.

The closing ceremony took place at the National Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh on Sept. 10 under the presidency of H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.

Phnom Penh capital sit first with 56 medals including 28 gold, 14 silver and 14 bronze, followed by Kandal province with 32 medals – 10 gold, 14 silver and 8 bronze, and Battambang province with 39 medals – 10 gold, 12 silver, 17 bronze.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, H.E. Vath Chamroeun praised all committees for their efforts in successfully organising the games, adding that the event is aimed not only to promote the sports sectors, but also increase the solidarity and friendship among young athletes throughout the country.

Taking place from Sept. 2 to 10, the tournament attracted a total of 3,257 coaches, young athletes and sports officials from Cambodia's 25 capital and provinces.

Organised by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, the event included 12 kinds of sports in 105 disciplines challenging for 716 medals.
