National Police: “Blood Slave” in Preah Sihanouk Province Is a Fabricated News

The National Police of Cambodia has announced that the information about “blood slave” in Preah Sihanouk province is just a fabricated news.

The clarification was made in a press release of the Spokesperson of the National Police this afternoon, after conducting an immediate investigation into a recent information reported by a number of media and social media outlets that a Chinese man was captured and sold as “blood slave” in a Chinatown in Preah Sihanouk province, affecting the environment and social psychology as well as creating confusion among national and international public opinion.

According to the press release, the information was fabricated by Chinese man, Li Ya Yuan Lun, 31, and three other accomplices. Li Ya Yuan Lun claimed to be the victim, but in fact he entered illegally in Cambodia. He and his accomplices created the fake news about detaining people, torturing them and selling them as blood slaves as an excuse to help Li Ya Yuan Lun escape from the Cambodian law.

Li Ya Yuan Lun and the accomplices have been currently detained by the authorities for legal action, it underlined.

The Spokesperson of the National Police appealed to all media and social media outlets to revise the publication of the above fabricated information to avoid confusion from the national and international public, and urged all journalists and social media users to adhere to professional ethics by not publishing information without clear sources, clear evidence which affects the social environment and creates fear among national and international tourists and foreign investors in Cambodia.
