MOWRAM Calls for Vigilance of Flash Floods

The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology (MOWRAM) has appealed people to increase their vigilance of possible phenomena, especially flash floods this week.

From Sept. 22 to 28, more rainfall, from medium to heavy, is expected throughout the country, creating flash floods, the ministry said in an announcement yesterday.

Phnom Penh capital and the provinces of Kandal, Kampong Speu, Pursat, Battambang, Pailin, Siem Reap, Banteay Meanchey, Preah Vihear, Oddar Meanchey, Kong Kong and Preah Sihanouk, as well as those next to the Dangrek mountain range and in the northeastern part bordering Vietnam would face flash floods.

The temperature would vary between 23 and 34 degrees Celsius for the provinces in the central lowland areas, from 22 to 33 degrees Celsius for the provinces next to the Dangrek mountain range and highland areas in the northeast, and between 23 and 35 degrees Celsius for the coastal areas.
