MELAKA, A mother and daugther suffered second-degree burns after the house they were staying in at Kampung Bukit Gedung, Tanjung Kling caught fire at 9.40 am today. The mother, 36, and daughter, seven, suffered burns to their legs and arms and were rushed to the Melaka Hospital by the paramedics. Tangga Batu Fire and Rescue Station operations commander Snr Fire Officer II Mohamed Azuani Mat Yusuf said the department received a distress call about the fire at 9.48 am and a team of 16 firefighters with two engines and paramedics rushed to the scene. "As soon as they arrived, they found a semi-permanent 40x40 sq ft semi-detached house was burning, along with a Yamaha Y15 and a Honda EX5. "A seven-year-old girl and her mother suffered second-degree burns and were sent to the hospital for further treatment,' he said in a statement here today.
