Rabat:The legislative elections held on Wednesday in Morocco have been hailed as establishing the nation as a "model" of democracy and political alternation in the region, according to Carlos Uriarte, a Spanish academic.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Uriarte highlighted the institutional stability and the regularity of the electoral process in Morocco. He emphasized that the normalcy of political alternation allows Morocco to serve as a model for other countries in the region.

Uriarte praised the smooth conduct of the elections, noting the success in organization due to a closely followed election campaign, the maturity and rigor of candidates, and genuine electoral competition. He cited Morocco's ability to guarantee election transparency, with the elections taking place under law-abiding conditions.

From a technical perspective, the process was flawless, resulting in the representation of 14 parties in Parliament. This outcome reflects the political, ideological, and cultural diversity of Morocco.

The academic also pointed out the strong voter turnout in Morocco's southern provinces, where participation rates exceeded the national average. This, he noted, indicates local support for the Kingdom's reforms and investments in the region.

Uriarte further mentioned the regularity of Morocco's electoral calendar, with legislative elections scheduled every five years, ensuring a smoothly functioning constitutional order. He underscored the existence of a Parliament representative of diverse political orientations, serving as a true channel for citizens' expectations.
