Ministry of Information and Indian Embassy Collaborate on Education and Livelihood Projects

Phnom penh: Cambodia's Ministry of Information and the Embassy of India have reached a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to implement two Quick Impact Projects aimed at supporting education and improving rural livelihoods.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the MoU was signed by Minister of Information H.E. Neth Pheaktra and Indian Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Vanlalvawna Bawitlung. The agreement encompasses two pivotal initiatives: a bicycle distribution project to aid students in disadvantaged communities and a beekeeping project designed to enhance the livelihoods of vulnerable farming households.

The projects are anticipated to contribute to poverty reduction, promote education in remote rural regions, build capacity and life skills, strengthen farmers' resilience to climate change, and support the economic, social, environmental, and infrastructure development of rural communities. They will also encourage community participation in a transparent, equitable, and accountable manner.

H.E. Neth Pheaktra described the agreement as an important step in the Government of India's continued support for Cambodia's development efforts.
