Phnom penh: The Ministry of Commerce has announced its plans to organise the 3rd "Cambodia Digital Commerce Forum and Online Exhibition," which is set to occur from September 11 to 13, 2026, at the Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Penn Sovicheat, Secretary of State and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce, discussed the event at a press conference on August 26. He emphasized that the forum, under the theme "Promoting Cambodia's Digital Trade Towards 2030," aims to continue the Ministry's initiatives to drive digital transformation in trade, enhance the digital trade ecosystem, and bolster the capabilities of Cambodian businesses.
The forum, now in its third iteration, is part of the Ministry's ongoing efforts to support digital commerce. H.E. Penn Sovicheat underscored the significance of purchasing Cambodian products, stating that it extends beyond mere commercial transactions. Such purchases contribute to local enterprise support, job creation, income generation, and the strengthening of the national economy's production capacity.
The Ministry encourages participation from the public, entrepreneurs, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), women business leaders, students, and tech enthusiasts. This year's forum will also feature the launch of "Mission 500 Transactions" on the national e-commerce platform CambodiaTrade.com, aimed at converting the promotion of Cambodian products into tangible commercial orders and transactions.
According to the Ministry, the event in September has garnered cooperation and support from several partners, including the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, the US and UK embassies, the Asian Development Bank, and various private-sector representatives.
The Ministry projects that e-commerce revenue, which was expected to reach US$1.1 billion in 2025, will grow to US$1.8 billion by 2029.
