Mine Clearance’s Project Achievement in First Semester Reviewed

The Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority (CMAA), Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and donor community held a hybrid event for the mid-year 2022 project board meeting of the “Clearing for Results, Phase 4 – Mine Action for Human Development Project” on July 7.

The meeting was presided over by H.E. Ly Thuch, Senior Minister and First Vice President of CMAA, Ms. Ji Yea Kyung, Deputy Country Director of KOICA Cambodia Office, and Ms. Sonali Dayaratne, UNDP’s Deputy Resident Representative in Cambodia, along with CMAA and UNDP colleagues, and the participation of the representatives from DFAT, New Zealand, and the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Cambodia.

According to a press release of KOICA AKP received this afternoon, the meeting was to review project achievements from January to June 2022, key priories for July to December 2022, implementation challenges, and financial update.

All participants actively participated in the meeting and shared their insights and opinions on the mentioned topics which led to the fruitful result of the meeting.

The Clearing for Results-Phase 4 (CFR-IV) Project is in line with the National Mine Action Strategy (NMAS) of Cambodia and is highly feasible to contribute to the Mine-Free Cambodia, an SDG 18th goal set by the Cambodian government itself, and KOICA has been supporting for mine clearance activities in Cambodia by providing US$10 million from 2021 to 2025.
