Phnom penh: The Regional Border Committee (RBC) meeting between Cambodia’s Military Region 5 and Thailand’s Army Region 1 has been postponed to October 2025.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the update was shared this afternoon by H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata, Spokeswoman for the Cambodian Ministry of National Defence. The delay is attributed to restructuring and leadership changes within Thailand’s Army Region 1.
Cambodia’s Military Region 5 will continue coordinating with the Thai side to promptly organise the meeting. The aim is for both parties to fully and effectively implement the ceasefire agreement and foster concrete cooperation to promote peace and stability between the two countries. Additionally, the meeting seeks to restore normalcy along the border, as noted by the spokeswoman.
