Kratie: The Ministry of Tourism has announced the organisation of a 5-kilometre public fun run as part of the celebrations for the 10th River Festival 2026 in Kratie province, held under the theme 'Green Rivers, Cultural Heritage, and Rich Natural Resources.'

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Fun Run event will take place on Mar. 27, at 6:00 a.m., with the starting and finishing point located at the entrance gate of the River Festival venue. The run is being organised in collaboration with the Kratie Provincial Administration.

The Ministry has invited national and international tourists, as well as the general public, to participate in the event by registering in advance via QR code from the date of the announcement until Mar. 24. Participation in the run is free of charge. The first 1,000 registered participants will receive an event T-shirt, while those registering afterward may still join but will not receive a T-shirt. All participants will be provided with water, beverages, and refreshments.

Participants who complete the run while wearing the event T-shirt will receive a souvenir Krama (Cambodian scarf) presented by Minister of Tourism H.E. Huot Hak and Kratie Provincial Governor H.E. Var Thorn. T-shirts will be distributed on Mar. 25-26, during working hours at the Kratie Provincial Hall.

The River Festival 2026 is scheduled to take place from Mar. 27 to 29. This will be the second time for Kratie province to host this joyful event. With an aim to raise public awareness and encourage greater participation in the sustainable development and conservation of river resources, the River Festival is organised annually on a rotational basis among provinces located along major rivers. The first festival was held in Kratie in 2015, followed by Stung Treng, Kampong Cham and Thbong Khmum, Kandal, Kampong Chhnang, Battambang, Kampong Thom, Siem Reap, and Takeo.
