Korean Delegation Lauds Cambodia’s Rapid Growth

A visiting Korean delegation has praised the rapid progress of Cambodia, especially in the field of infrastructure, and her successful fulfillment of her role in the international arena, and expressed their intention to invest and expand their investment in the Kingdom. The delegation, composed of H.E. In-Kyo Cheong, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy of the Republic of Korea, Dr. Chang Dae-Whan, Chairman of Maekyung Media Group and representatives of many Korean companies, made the appreciation in a meeting with Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, at the Peace Palace here this afternoon. The delegation are also willing to strengthen and expand cooperation on investment, trade and economic promotion in accordance with the Cambodia-Korea Free Trade Agreement (CKFTA). Moreover, the delegation pledged to further foster cooperation and investment in a number of areas, including education, tourism, vocational training, agriculture, energy, electronics, automob iles, food service and media with Cambodia. For his part, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet reiterated that the 7th-mandate Royal Government remains open to investment from all countries, based on flexibility and realism, and has introduced policies to respond to and address challenges of investors doing business in the Kingdom to maintain the investment environment as well as competitiveness in order to retain existing investors and attract more new investors to the country. The Royal Government has also set priority policies for human resource development through education reform, curriculum, expansion of STEM and STEAM training, and vocational and technical training in response to the labour market's needs in a flexible and practical manner, as well as through capacity building with reskilling and upkilling programmes.
