Phnom Penh:The Embassy of India in Phnom Penh organized a 5-kilometer event, the 'Viksit Bharat Run 2026,' at Botum Park on September 27, gathering over 200 participants to promote fitness, community unity, and international friendship. According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the event attracted enthusiastic participation from the Indian diaspora, Cambodian nationals, students, professionals, and local running enthusiasts. The route for the 5-kilometer run began and ended at Botum Park, including a stretch toward the Small Roundabout near Wat Phnom. This run in Phnom Penh is part of a global initiative conducted in 125 cities worldwide, aimed at promoting healthy living, service, and civic pride. It highlights India's developmental progress and supports the 'Viksit Bharat' vision for 2047, which aims for a fully developed nation by the centenary of India's independence. Indian Ambassador to Cambodia, H.E. Vanlalvawna Bawitlung, addressed the participants, outlining the goals of the Viksit Bharat Run. He emp hasized community engagement and encouraged fostering international partnerships for global progress. The Ambassador also thanked Phnom Penh City Hall for their cooperation and support in ensuring the smooth conduct of the event. The run was warmly received by community members and friends of India across Cambodia, celebrating wellness and the enduring friendship between India and Cambodia.
