ICC-Angkor-Sambor Prei Kuk Holds Its 37th Technical Session in Siem Reap

The International Coordinating Committee for the Safeguarding and Development of the Historic Site of Angkor (ICC-Angkor) and Sambo Prei Kuk is holding its 37th Technical Session in Siem Reap provincial city.

The session was opened this morning under the presidency of H.E. Mrs. Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts and President of the Apsara National Authority, and the co-chairmanship of Mr. TANINAI Ichitomo, Minister/Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Japan to Cambodia and Mr. Pierre VINCENT, Counsellor for Cooperation and Cultural Affairs at the Embassy of France in Cambodia.

Mr. Sardar Umar ALAM, UNESCO Country Representative in Cambodia also joined the two-day meeting.

According to the APSARA National Authority, at today’s session, the ICC-Angkor discussed and monitored the implementation of the recommendations adopted in the 36th Technical Session and the 29th Plenary Meeting in December 2022, as well as reviewed the report of the repair, and conservation activities of the technical team.

The report reviewed at this meeting reflects the activities of the AdHoc experts, who visited the site from June 7 to 11, 2023 and the report will be included for discussion in the meeting tomorrow.
