In view of the current hot weather, Tabung Haji has scheduled only morning visits to historical places here for all Malaysian pilgrims.
TH manager of rituals and visits for the Madinah sector, Muhammad Fakhrur Ridzwan Othman said this was to ensure that the pilgrims were not exposed to hot temperatures for a long period of time.
“We will try to speed up the visits, depending on the traffic situation and other factors,” he told reporters here.
Yesterday, the first batch of 284 Malaysian pilgrims for this year’s haj season arrived safely in Madinah and began to visit the Prophet Muhammad’s tomb and Al-Baqi cemetery.
A total of 98 flights carrying 31,600 Malaysian pilgrims will be arriving either in Madinah or Makkah for this year’s haj with the last to land on June 21.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Fakhrur Ridzwan said TH is ready to assist and answer all questions from the pilgrims via various platforms to ensure they get the right information pertaining to their haj or umrah rituals.
For Madinah sector, he said there will be eight haj guides on duty to help the pilgrims at any time should they have any questions about the rituals.
He said the pilgrims can also use the e-haj guide application or e-Taib to get quick answers online, or via WhatsApp or Taib hotline.
Matters concerning the dam (fine) and fiqh (jurisprudence) involving women during haj or umrah are among the frequently asked questions, he added.
