Hockey Competition Kicks Off Today

Indoor Hockey competition kicked off today as the fourth sport before the official Opening Ceremony of the 32nd SEA Games on May 5.

The competition was held at the Dinosaur Park Hall in Sangkat Chroy Changvar, Phnom Penh, with Thailand women’s team beating the Philippines women’s team 8-0.

There are six matches of Indoor Hockey on May 1 – the first two matches between Thailand and the Philippines (women and men), followed by Malaysia-Singapore (women), Singapore-Indonesia (men), Malaysia-Cambodia (women) and Indonesia-Cambodia (men).

Indoor hockey was first introduced at the 2017 Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Cambodia participated in the Hockey competition for the first time in 2019 in the women's indoor event.
