Gold Refined Reaches 6.37 Tonnes as of June

Renaissance Minerals Cambodia Limited, a subsidiary of the Australia-listed Emerald Resources NL, has extracted and refined some 6,727 kilogrammes of gold ore from its licenced commercial gold mine located in Mondulkiri province’s Keo Seima district.

“Up to now, the company has refined a total of 6,727.70 kilogrammes with 90 percent quality, and paid US$10.2 million as royalties,” the Ministry of Mines and Energy said in a report released on Sunday.

The operation of the Renaissance Minerals Cambodia Limited has contributed to creating national budget revenue source and building new national capabilities and models for responsible mining and sustainable development, the ministry underlined.

The achievements of Cambodia's gold mining industry reflect clearly the Royal Government’s efforts to create a conducive investment environment to attract foreign investment as well as a new industry with environmental and social responsibility according to international standards, it added.

Renaissance started its commercial production in June 2021, becoming the first commercial gold producer in the Kingdom.

It plans to refine an estimated three tonnes of gold ore every year for the first eight years of the mine’s operation.
