GDCE Collects US$819 Million as Customs Revenue in First Four Months

Cambodia collected some US$819 million in customs revenue in the first four months of this year, accounting for 31 percent of the yearly plan, shows the data from the General Department of Customs and Excises.

The data was revealed in a press conference on update of vehicle import tax collection chaired by H.E. Kun Nhim, Director-General of the General Department of Customs and Excises.

In April alone, the custom income collection was US$220 million, or 8.5 percent of the plan.

According to H.E. Khun Nhim, automobiles and machinery topped the list of sources of customs and excise revenue, followed by general goods –petroleum, construction materials as well as miscellaneous products.

H.E. Kun Nhim continued that the GDCE will continue to implement what is stated in the annual action plan and the medium-term revenue collection of the government, try to collect revenue as much as possible according to the plan set by the national budget Law.
