Phnom penh: The following are the outcomes of the ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Interface with the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR) Representatives and Meeting of the Southeast Asia Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone Commission (SEANWFZ), released this afternoon by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation:

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the ASEAN Foreign Ministers engaged in a comprehensive dialogue with AICHR representatives, focusing on enhancing regional cooperation in human rights protection and promotion. The discussions emphasized the importance of collective efforts to address human rights challenges in the region and underscored the commitment to uphold international human rights standards.

In addition to the interface with AICHR, the ASEAN Foreign Ministers also convened a meeting of the SEANWFZ Commission. This meeting reaffirmed the commitment of ASEAN member states to maintain Southeast Asia as a zone free of nuclear weapons. The discussions centered on strategies to strengthen the implementation of the SEANWFZ Treaty and explored ways to engage with nuclear-weapon states to promote regional peace and security.
