Fast Evolution of Cambodia’s E-Commerce Sector Prominently Observed

The rapid evolution of the e-commerce sector in Cambodia has remarkably been noticed thanks to the efforts of the Royal Government of Cambodia in making and developing policies and various initiatives to support the advancement of the e-commerce field. The above-said statement was made by H.E. SUON Prasith, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Cambodia to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) and other International Organisations (Economy and Trade) in Geneva, Switzerland, at the session on 'Empowering Inclusive Digital Trade,' on the sidelines of the 9th Global Review of Aid for Trade in Geneva, Switzerland on June 27, according to the Ministry of Commerce. On the occasion, H.E. SUON Prasith also highlighted CambodiaTrade, a national e-commerce platform established to increase economic opportunities for Cambodian micro, small, medium enterprises (MSMEs), especially provincial women-led and women-owned enterprises in order to take advantages from e-commerce and di gital economy for selling their products and services domestically and internationally, along with some initiatives implemented successfully with the Global Alliance for Trade Facilitation. This important panel discussion which was co-organised by the Permanent Mission of Cambodia, the Global Alliance for Trade Facilitation, and the WTO, was attended by ambassadors, delegates, and representatives from member countries, international organisations, and the private sector. During the three-day 9th Global Review of Aid for Trade, Cambodian potential products and the latest laws, regulations, and other relevant publications on economics, trade, and investment in Cambodia were showcased, from June 26 to 28.
