COVID-19: 258 New Infections; Tally 116,665

A total of 258 new cases were reported this morning in Cambodia; bringing the national counts to 116,665.

The Ministry of Health’s press release underlined that they are PCR test results. 24 of the new infections were imported and the rest were connected to the Feb. 20 community outbreak, it added.

At the same time, it pointed out, 24 more people lost their lives due to the pandemic, but 405 others have successfully been cured; the total death and recovered cases in the Kingdom thus stood at 2,658 and 110,870, respectively.

The first COVID-19 case was detected in Cambodia in late January 2020 in Preah Sihanouk province. The confirmed cases have surged quickly this year due to the Feb. 20 incident.
