Cold Weather Expected Across Cambodia Next Week


Phnom penh: The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology (MOWRAM) this morning issued a notice warning of a cold spell across Cambodia from Nov. 22 to 30, 2025, urging the public to remain vigilant as temperatures in mountain ranges could fall to 16 degrees Celsius.



According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the announcement highlights that lowland provinces, including Banteay Meanchey, Battambang, Pursat, Kampong Chhnang, Siem Reap, Kampong Thom, Kampong Cham, Thbong Khmum, Prey Veng, Kandal, Takeo, and Svay Rieng, as well as Phnom Penh, may experience cool weather with minimum temperatures around 20 degrees Celsius and maximum temperatures of about 29 degrees Celsius.



In highland provinces such as Kampong Speu, Pailin, Oddar Meanchey, Preah Vihear, Kratie, Stung Treng, Rattanakiri, and Mondulkiri, the average minimum temperature is expected to drop to 18 degrees Celsius, with maximum temperatures reaching around 28 degrees Celsius.



For coastal areas – Koh Kong, Preah Sihanouk, Kampot, and Kep – the temperature will range between 21 and 31 degrees Celsius, while sea waves are forecast to reach heights between 0.50 and 1.50 metres.



Colder conditions are expected in the Dangrek, Cardamom, and Bokor mountain ranges, where temperatures may fall to 16 degrees Celsius at their lowest and reach up to 27 degrees Celsius at their highest.



MOWRAM called on the public and local authorities to take precautions during this cold period to prevent possible accidents. The Ministry will continue to monitor and assess the situation and provide timely updates.
