AKP Phnom Penh, Chinse State Councillor and Foreign Minister H.E. Wang Yi has reconfirmed that China will continue to strongly support Cambodia, an iron-clad friend.

The reconfirmation was made at a press conference yesterday evening, after attending the 55th ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting (55th AMM) and Related Meetings in Phnom Penh.

“After attending the 55th AMM and Related Meetings, I am confident that Cambodia will certainly fulfill well its duties as the rotating Chair of ASEAN this year and boost the China-ASEAN relations to a new level,” he said.

H.E. Wang Yi also noted that Cambodia, in its capacity as the ASEAN Chair, has been doing a good job by making a positive contribution to the East Asian cooperation. He also expressed his appreciation to Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and H.E. Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation regarding the matter.

Besides, the Chinese top diplomat laid stress on China's stance on the Taiwan Strait as well as the South China Sea issues.
