Capital Market Mobilises Over US$700 Million

Phnom penh: The Cambodia Securities Exchange (CSX) has officially breached a major funding milestone, mobilising over US$703 million in total capital. Speaking at the IPO ceremony of a Real Estate (Housing Development) company held on July 2, H.E. Hong Sok Hour, CEO of Cambodia Securities Exchange, announced the achievement and highlighted the stock market's growth.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the stock market currently has a total of 27 listed companies, including 12 companies listed for selling shares and 15 others listed for selling bonds. These companies have collectively raised approximately US$703 million from the market.

H.E. Hong Sok Hour expressed optimism about the market's future, stating, "We expect that this year, the market will be able to raise up to an additional approximately US$300 million," as more large companies are preparing to go public with their Initial Public Offerings (IPOs).

This steady influx of listings signifies a shift in mindset among entrepreneurs and corporate boards within the Kingdom. H.E. Hong Sok Hour noted, "The securities market has become a financing channel, allowing private companies and public enterprises with potential to raise capital to expand and strengthen their businesses, as well as increase regional competitive advantage."
