Cambodia’s Top Diplomat to Visit Malaysia for Bilateral Talks

Phnom penh: Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. Prak Sokhonn is set to make an official visit to Malaysia from August 3 to 4. Invited by his Malaysian counterpart, H.E. Dato' Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hasan, the visit aims to strengthen diplomatic ties between the two nations.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Prak Sokhonn will engage in a courtesy call with H.E. Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the Prime Minister of Malaysia. Additionally, he will co-chair the 3rd Meeting of the Cambodia-Malaysia Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC) alongside H.E. Mohamad Hasan.

The primary focus of the 3rd JCBC meeting will be to review the progress made since the last meeting and to evaluate the implementation of previously concluded agreements. The meeting will also discuss new initiatives to enhance cooperation in various sectors, further solidifying the relationship between Cambodia and Malaysia.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation highlighted that this visit is a testament to the strong bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries. It also underscores a shared commitment to promoting peace, prosperity, and sustainable development in the region.
