Phnom penh: Cambodia’s Military Region 4 on Tuesday issued a second invitation to Thailand’s Army Area 2 to attend the Regional Border Committee (RBC) meeting scheduled to take place this month.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata, Spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defence, stated that the meeting is planned to be hosted by Cambodia in Oddar Meanchey province from Oct. 15 to 17, 2025.

This upcoming meeting aligns with the outcomes of the 1st Special General Border Committee (GBC) Meeting and the First Extraordinary RBC Meeting between Cambodia’s Military Region 4 and Thailand’s Army Area 2, held on Aug. 27, 2025.

The Second Extraordinary RBC Meeting aims to ensure the sustained, full, and effective implementation of the ceasefire agreement between Cambodia and Thailand, as well as to foster practical cooperation to strengthen peace and stability and restore normal relations between the two neighbouring countries.

The first invitation was sent on Sept. 30, 2025, the spokesperson added.
