Cambodian Senate President Advises The Nation Thailand on Journalistic Professionalism

Phnom penh: Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of Cambodia, has offered advice to The Nation Thailand regarding journalistic professionalism after reading several of its recent articles about Cambodia.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Samdech Techo Hun Sen suggested that The Nation Thailand should focus more on Thailand’s internal affairs rather than speculating about Cambodia’s political future. He expressed that he has been in power since before some Thai journalists were born or were still young. He emphasized his understanding of Cambodian politics and critiqued the Thai reporters for lacking awareness of their own country’s affairs while attempting to analyze Cambodia’s situation.

The Senate President recommended that Thai media pay closer attention to developments after the Thai government’s four-month tenure post-early elections, scheduled for 2026. He insisted that Cambodia is capable of managing its own affairs without needing Thailand’s domestic narratives to influence Cambodian stories.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen concluded with a saying, advising against mixing play with anger, underscoring the importance of maintaining professionalism in journalism.
