Cambodian PM Receives Three Foreign Guests

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received here at the Peace Palace on May 2 separate courtesy calls from three foreign guests from Nepal, The World Fellowship of Buddhists (WFB), and Indonesia.

According to H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Personal Assistant to the Cambodian Premier, in a meeting with visiting H.E. Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, Chairperson of Nepalese National Assembly, both sides agreed to boost the cooperation and relations between the two countries through the implementation of already-signed agreements and based on both nations’ similarities, especially in Buddhism.

For the meeting with Mr. Phallop Thaiarry, President of The WFB, it touched on the Honorary Title “Patron” of The WFB conferred upon the Cambodian Prime Minister. While Mr. Phallop Thaiarry spoke highly of Samdech Techo Hun Sen’s great contribution to peace, development, revival of religions, and religious harmony in Cambodia, which serves not only Cambodia, but also humanity as a whole, Samdech Techo Hun Sen pledged to do his best to continue promoting Buddhism and religious harmonisation.

During the meeting with visiting H.E. Mahyeldi Ansharullah, Governor of Indonesian province of West Sumatra, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said he is honoured to receive the “Honorary Doctorate in Humanities” from the Universitas Negeri Padang of Indonesia, and will check his schedule in order to give a lecture to 3,000 students at the university at the governor’s request. For his part, H.E. Mahyeldi Ansharullah thanked the Prime Minister for accepting the Honorary Doctorate from the university which has so far conferred such degree to only four top leaders who have significantly contributed not only to their respective nations, but also to the whole world.
