Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received here at the Peace Palace this morning visiting Secretary of Security Council of Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev.
According to H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Assistant to the Cambodian Premier, H.E. Nikolai Patrushev conveyed Russian President H.E. Vladimir Putin’s greetings and the Order of Friendship to Samdech Techo Prime Minister for his significant contribution to strengthening and expanding the relationship between the two countries.
H.E. Nikolai Patrushev expressed his appreciation of the cooperation between the two countries in the fields of politics, defence, social affairs, education, economy, trade, investment, information technology, security, information exchange and other fields.
In response, Samdech Techo Hun Sen thanked Russia for the Order of Friendship and agreed with H.E. Nikolai Patrushev’s evaluation on the Cambodia-Russian relations and cooperation.
Samdech Techo Prime Minister also suggested to expand the bilateral cooperation to other areas besides the existing ones, especially to consider having a bilateral free trade agreement, and profoundly thanked the former Soviet Union and the Russian Federation for their past support and assistance to Cambodia.
