Cambodian PM Praises 16th ADMM’s Outcomes

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia and Chair of ASEAN for 2022, received here this afternoon a delegation of ASEAN defense ministers led by H.E. Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Second Minister of Defence of Brunei Darussalam.

According to H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Assistant to the Cambodian Premier, during the courtesy meeting, H.E. Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof on behalf of the ASEAN defence ministers thanked Samdech Techo Hun Sen for his warm hospitality and highly valued his leadership as the ASEAN Chair.

The second defence minister of Brunei Darussalam briefed the Cambodian Prime Minister on the outcomes of the 16th ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (16th ADMM) which adopted key documents, including the Concept Paper on Enhancing Cooperation Amongst Defence Forces of ASEAN Member States (AMS) in Cross-Border Pandemic Containment, the Concept Paper on Enhancing Support Mechanism for ASEAN Women Peacekeepers, the Concept Paper on the Establishment of ASEAN Defence Educational Institutions' Collaboration (ADEIC), the Terms of Reference of the ADMM Cybersecurity and Information Centre of Excellence, and the “Phnom Penh Vision on the Role of Defence Establishments in Support COVID-19 Recovery”.

In reply, Samdech Techo Hun Sen thanked H.E. Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof for reporting to him the outcomes of 16th ADMM and spoke highly of the efforts of all defence ministers for the success of the 16th ADMM.

The Prime Minister thanked all ASEAN defence ministers for participating in the meeting and wished them a pleasant stay in Cambodia.
