Cambodian PM Gifts US$20,000 to a Brazilian Kun Khmer Fighter

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has announced to gift US$20,000 to Mr. Thiago Teixeira, a Brazilian Kun Khmer Fighter, and consider legal aspect to apply for Khmer citizenship for him.

“As an encouragement, I would like to donate US$20,000 to the Brazilian Kun Khmer fighter, Thiago Teixeira,” he said through his Telegram channel this morning. “On the other hand, if there is no violation of Brazil’s law, I will request His Majesty the King to grant Khmer citizenship to Thiago.”

Brazilian-born Thiago Teixeira early this month represented Cambodia in the “Apex Fight Series” promotion in Germany and won the World Muay Thai Organisation Middleweight title, after he knocked out his British opponent, Joe Craven, in the second round.

Besides, H.E. Khieu Kanharith, Minister of Information, and H.E. Mrs. Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts, announced to provide each US$1,000 to the Brazilian Kun Khmer Fighter.
