AKP Phnom Penh-- Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, together with different statesmen attended the “Together to #End Violence Leaders’ Event" on June 14.

In his remarks via videoconference, the Cambodian Premier said as a pathfinding country of the Global Partnership to End Violence Against Children, the Royal Government of Cambodia always pays high attention to the prevention of violence against children and the promotion of child protection.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen continued that Cambodia has steadily prepared and implemented policies and action plans, such as the Action Plan to Prevent and Respond to Violence against Children 2017-2021, the National Social Protection Policy Framework 2016-2025, and the National Policy on Child Protection System 2019-2029, to achieve an end to violence against children. In addition, in 2019, Cambodia became a pathfinding country of the Global Partnership to End Violence Against Children by prioritising the strengthening of the implementation of Policy on Alternative Care for Children to promote family-based care instead of residential care.

In 2021, he added, based on an evaluation of the Action Plan to Prevent and Respond to Violence against Children 2017-2021, Cambodia is on the right track in preventing violence against children. Going forward, Cambodia will continue to be more active in our efforts to ensure the safety of children everywhere such as at home, school, and community.

"More importantly, the Royal Government is strongly committed to ensuring that all children can live in a conducive environment for their nurtures with necessary protection provided to end violence against children in all forms, as well as to achieve Cambodia's pledges in the regional and global frameworks through the implementation of national action plans and policies that have been set out," Samdech Techo Prime Minister underlined.

According to an online source, the “Together to #End Violence Leaders’ Event” provides an important opportunity for the end violence community to come together, and a high-profile platform for leaders to make political and financial commitments to end violence against children.
