Cambodian Minister of Information H.E. Dr. Khieu Kanharith has called on ASEAN and China to work together in finding ways to promote the media cooperation.

H.E. Minister made the remarks via video conference at the 2022 ASEAN Media Partners Forum on Sept. 15.

The one-day forum, hosted by China Media Group and the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, was attended by delegates from respective government institutions, academics and media institutions.

Noting that the ASEAN-China Media Cooperation promotes friendship and mutual understanding between people and people, H.E. Khieu Kanharith said in his speech that the forum is a hub for scholars, experts, and prominent panelists to discuss, share experience, find possible solutions and discover new ways to move forward for media cooperation between ASEAN and China.

The Cambodian information minister expressed his hope that the use of media’s leverage between ASEAN and China will boost the economic development during the recovery period, despite the continued presence of Covid-19.

Bilaterally, H.E. Khieu Kanharith spoke highly of the good cooperation between Cambodia-China media outlets and organisations, stressing that Cambodia will continue strengthening and enhancing the existing cooperation for media development of both sides.
