Cambodian Defence Minister Joins Trilateral Meeting After GBC Meeting in Malaysia


Kuala lumpur: H.E. Gen. Tea Seiha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia, participated in a trilateral meeting with Malaysia’s Minister of National Defence, H.E. Mohamed Khaled Bin Nordin, and Thailand’s Minister of National Defence, H.E. Gen. Nattaphon Nakphanit.



According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Spokeswoman of the Cambodian Ministry of National Defence, the trilateral meeting followed the conclusion of the 2nd Special Meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand General Border Committee (GBC), which was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia this morning. The meeting aimed to build upon discussions from the earlier GBC meeting.



The three parties agreed to continue their efforts to maintain momentum for restoring peace between Cambodia and Thailand. This objective will be achieved through key mechanisms adopted during the 2nd Special GBC Meeting held earlier the same day.



H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata highlighted that Cambodia expressed appreciation for Malaysia’s effective efforts in facilitating recent negotiations between Cambodia and Thailand. The trilateral meeting underscored the importance of regional cooperation and dialogue in fostering stability and peace in the region.
