Cambodian Commerce Minister Meets Executive Director of EIF in Switzerland

AKP Phnom Penh--H.E. Pan Sorasak, Cambodia’s Minister of Commerce, held talks with Dr. Ratnakar Adhikari, Executive Director of Enhanced Integrated Framework (EIF) at the World Trade Organisation (WTO) to discuss the cooperation between Cambodia and EIF, on the sidelines of WTO’s 12th Ministerial Conference in Geneva, Switzerland on June 12.

H.E Pan Sorasak spoke highly of the good cooperation between Cambodia and EIF so far, as well as the achievements and progress in implementing Cambodia's e-commerce acceleration project called Go4eCAM, and positive results of assessment on Cambodia Export Diversification and Expansion Programme (CEDEP).

The minister also mentioned about the recent launch of CambodiaTrade.com, and requested EIF Secretariat to continue supporting the implementation of EIF-backed projects, mainly Cambodia Trade Integration Strategy (CTIS) 2019-2023.

For his part, Mr. Dr. Ratnakar Adhikari praised Cambodia for its development, particularly its trade potential, and expressed support for e-commerce strategy, along with Go4eCAM project, CTIS 2019-2023 and strong partnership.

Through CambodaTrade.com, SMEs in Cambodia would have opportunity to adapt themselves to technology and increase their competitions in exporting Cambodian products to global market, said Dr. Ratnakar Adhikari.
