Cambodian Commerce Minister Highlights Crucial Role of Women in Shaping Resilient Economies

Kuala Lumpur: H.E. Mrs. CHAM Nimul, Minister of Commerce of Cambodia, participated as a panelist in the ASEAN Women Economic Summit, under the agenda ‘Global Power Hour: Women Pioneering Change Across Continents,’ held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia yesterday afternoon. The event took place on the sidelines of the 25th ASEAN Economic Community Council Meeting, said the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the discussion was moderated by H.E. Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment of Malaysia. Other distinguished panelists included H.E. Ms. Dyah Roro Esti Widya Putri, Vice Minister of Commerce of Indonesia, and Mrs. Ng Wei Wei, Chief Executive Officer of UOB Bank.

The summit gathered prominent women leaders from across ASEAN to exchange views on policy development and leadership initiatives aimed at empowering women in developing economies. During the session, H.E. Mrs. CHAM Nimul shared her insights and experiences as a leading figure in economic policymaking. She highlighted the importance of inclusive leadership and the critical role women play in shaping resilient economies.

H.E. Minister also offered her personal advice and encouraged the next generation of women leaders, reaffirming her commitment to advancing women’s economic participation across the region.
